Hardware and Equipment #
You will need:
- At least one NFC reader with Bluetooth functionality. We support the ACR1255 and the ACR1555U.
- NFC cards or fobs.
Important: The NFC reader must be Bluetooth compatible.
Tip: It may be helpful to have two NFC readers on hand. One to connect with your VisitorBook staff terminal and one to connect with your regular terminal used for visitor sign-in.
Other preparation #
Make sure you have:
- Access to a VisitorBook terminal set up as a staff terminal.
- Access to the VisitorBook Admin Portal.
You will also need to have:
- Already created visitor records for the relevant people in VisitorBook.
- Existing sign-in QR codes for the relevant people. These may already be printed on existing visitor cards or labels. Alternatively, print this directly from the VisitorBook Admin Portal.
Once you are set up you can connect the NFC reader and link NFC cards or fobs.
