COMING SOON! Your host groups are all set up. To send host group notifications, however, you first need to assign them to visitor types.
Tips:
- Make sure you know the basics of how host group notifications work in VisitorBook. If you haven’t already, check out our Overview guide.
- Make sure your host groups are set up how you’d like before you assign them to visitor types.

Assign host group to visitor type #
- Go to User Settings > Notifications.
- Go to Configure Notifications.
- The Configure Notifications section lists all of the visitor types in your system.
- Next to the relevant visitor type, go to the Host Group Notifications column.
- Choose the host group from the dropdown.
Notes:
- The visitor types shown here as those set in your system under User Settings > Visitor Types.
- The available host group options shown here are those set under the Host Groups section further down the Notifications page.
Important: Host groups can only be assigned to visitor types. it is not possible to assign a specific host group to a specific visitor.
Tip: Don’t want to send a host group notification for a particular visitor type? Simply leave the field empty.
Change/unassign host group from visitor type #
To change the entire host group for a visitor type:
- Click on the Host Group Notifications section.
- Choose a different host group from the list.
To remove the host group from the visitor type:
- Hover over the host group. A cross appears next to the host group.
- Click on the cross to remove the host group for that specific visitor type.
